The Historical District Commission / Architectural Review Commission has five members and one Town Council liaison. The Mayor and Council appoint members.
The Commission seeks to foster and safeguard the town's heritage by preserving structures, sites, and districts that reflect elements of the town's cultural, social, economic, political, architectural, or archeological history.
The Commission reviews the following changes or additions to a property's exterior: signs, color changes, roofing, siding, shutters, landscaping, fencing, decks, patios, porches, garages, doors, and windows.
