New Market bypass would serve everyone

A “bypass” for New Market would be beneficial to the residents of Greenview, Holly Hills, Summerfield and Lake Linganore .

This could be created, with relative ease, by constructing straight exit and entrance ramps to convert the Mussetter Road overpass on I-70 into an interchange similar to the U.S. 340 interchange at Lander Road. Jug-handle ramps, which the Maryland State Highway Administration has installed elsewhere, are inherently inefficient by comparison with straight ramps equipped with traffic-actuated traffic signals that break the traffic on the cross street for travelers that would be exiting from I-70. more…
